PacketLogic™ Report Studio Network Analytics Showcased at Australian Education, Science and Technology Conference
FREMONT, CA -- (Marketwire) -- Jul 17, 2012 -- Procera Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: PKT), the intelligent policy enforcement company, today announced it provided broadband access and network management during this year's Queensland Education, Science and Technology Network (QUESTnet) conference.
Procera deployed its PL7810 to provide up to 5Gbps network access, while showcasing its PacketLogic™ Report Studio to deliver customizable real-time analytics and print-ready reports in a live demo at its booth.
"The small form factor and low power requirements of the PL7810 make it easily and rapidly deployable, so it was a perfect fit for the show," said Daniel Sloan, Product Architect at Procera. "PacketLogic Report Studio offered attendees real-time simplified visibility into the complex analytics of network traffic running at the show that could be viewed based on traffic type, location, type of device, application or User ID."
Broadband access is increasingly important to the education market for efficiently sharing information among researchers, scientists and educators such as data, high-resolution images and videos for collaboration. The student population heavily uses mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets for studying and to run high bandwidth applications such as file sharing, gaming and streaming video.
"Australian educational institutions have experienced dramatic increases in bandwidth consumption, creating congestion and bottlenecks that can degrade network performance," said Peter Coupe, Procera's Network Sales and Business Development Director for Australia and New Zealand. "They need a solution that provides greater bandwidth coupled with the granular visibility to manage subscribers, prioritize traffic, and enforce policy to ensure quality of service for everyone -- for example, extended campus learning and real-time medical imaging prioritized over gaming."
Driven by Procera's Datastream Recognition Definition Language, Procera's IPE solutions provide the visibility to enable traffic and service management, prioritization of content and applications based on university policies, and usage management that may include multiple levels of network services based on the volume of traffic consumed by students and faculty on the network.
