MARLOW, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - December 10, 2012) - The SAS Public Security team and long-term partner Technology Control Company (TCC) today signed a major new Memorandum of Understanding with Naif Academy for National Security, the intelligence training college of the Saudi Arabian government, to introduce leading technologies to enhance the stability and prosperity of the Kingdom.
The three parties signed the agreement at IFSEC & OSH Arabia (RICSEC, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, 9-11 December 2012), a leading international security event supported and endorsed by the Saudi Ministry of Interior.
The relationship will help the Academy students achieve the highest professional standards and apply the latest international techniques in the management of intelligence materials. Students will access the internationally accepted standard suite of intelligence and analytics solutions provided by the Public Security team at SAS. This same solutions framework has been adopted by leading law enforcement and security and border management agencies in the Gulf region and around the world.
Under the terms of the agreement, SAS and TCC have been selected to provide the academy with a laboratory where SAS'' public security solutions will be used to support training and simulations in all aspects of the intelligence cycle using realistic data and risk scenarios. The new laboratory will become the Academy''s centre of excellence for data management, analytics, investigations, intelligence management and enterprisewide operational intelligence solutions.
SAS and TCC will also supply industry and technology know-how and domain expertise. Teams from SAS, TCC, the MOI and the Academy are working together to define the appropriate curriculum and accreditation programmes to enhance the stability and prosperity of the Kingdom as well as ensuring strong adherence to the professional standards required by public security agencies.
"Naif Academy for National Security is an internationally respected institution that plays a vital role in developing talent for the future," says Ian Manocha, Vice President for Government at SAS Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. "SAS is delighted to be able to support the Academy with this initiative. Integrating world-class software technologies into the national security training programmes will provide a richer and more relevant experience for the students and will enable them to be more effective in their roles."
The solutions and services that SAS will deliver are based on proven best practices from Europe and the US, where the company has had many successful customer implementations.
"The relationship with SAS will ensure that the Academy students are trained using realistic simulations and accredited to achieve the highest professional standards in intelligence management," says TCC''s Faisal Al Mousa. "SAS® technologies will be used to support training across the entire intelligence life cycle, and I believe our students and their sponsoring government departments will benefit greatly from this initiative."
