Z-Wave Alliance Announces 650th Certified Product; Extends Leadership of Wireless Control Market

Portable Controller From Remotec Technology Ltd. Sets New Milestone for Z-Wave Market Acceptance

TAIPEI, TAIWAN--(Marketwire - June 4, 2012) - COMPUTEX -- The Z-Wave Alliance, a consortium of global companies that oversees the world's largest interoperable ecosystem for wireless home control products and services, announced today that it has certified its market-leading 650th product.

Coming fast on the heels of the Alliance's 600th certified product announced in January of this year, the certification demonstrates the rapid worldwide growth of the Z-Wave wireless control ecosystem as the key enabler in the "Internet Of Things."

The ZRC-100 Portable Controller from Remotec Technology Limited provides simplified and secure control of door locks, lights, alarm systems and other home control devices from the convenience of the bedside table, coffee table or kitchen counter, all without requiring a smart phone, tablet, Wi-Fi, or even an Internet gateway.

In a noteworthy advancement, the ZRC-100 utilizes the same AES128 encryption standard used for online banking, as well as in Z-Wave enabled alarm panels, door locks and other secure devices. This feature, along with the remote's simple operation and low cost, make the ZRC-100 a perfect controller for any application where security and ease-of-use are essential, such as care for the aging and mobility impaired, as well as small businesses, hospitality environments and remote/local alarm management.

"The Z-Wave ecosystem, reliability and smart system-on-chip design have allowed us to further broaden our product portfolio," says Paul Cheng, Managing Director of Remotec Technology Ltd. The ZRC-100 portable controller seamlessly controls any and all Z-Wave certified devices from any manufacturer -- door locks, window shades, lighting, sensors and more.

The Z-URC product line is Remotec's answer to the increasing demand for home automation RF solutions powered by Z-Wave. "Remotec has been able to find a great niche with our family of Z-Wave enabled products as the home control market continues to grow at an amazingly fast pace," says Senior Sales Executive Cindy Li.

"The Z-Wave Alliance is pleased and honoured to have Remotec Technology Limited as a member," says Mark Walters, Chairman of the Z-Wave Alliance. "In addition to being a great all around remote control for everyday use, Remotec brings secure control of security panels, door locks, comfort, convenience, entertainment and energy devices to the mobility impaired and aging. It is also the perfect solution for hotels and small and medium business that need simple, low-cost remote control of secure and non-secure devices."

The Z-Wave Alliance will be hosting a two day Unplug Fest and Developers Forum, July 18 - July 19, 2012 in Taipei, Taiwan. The Developers Forum is an interactive event for Alliance members to discuss the latest advances in Z-Wave technology and exchange knowledge. The Unplug Fests is a full day hands-on product lab where Z-Wave enabled products are tested for interoperability. Space is limited. For more information, visit the Alliance site at www.z-wavealliance.org.
