ePals(R) Announces World Elections Center for Students Around the Globe

ePals, Inc.

Student-Focused, International Election Site Offers Activities, Projects, Games on 2012 Elections in U.S., Venezuela, Sierra Leone, South Korea and Other Countries Globally

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - October 10, 2012) - ePals Corporation (TSX VENTURE: SLN), an education media company and the world's leading safe social learning network, today announced the launch of the ePals World Elections Center, designed to involve students in a range of interactive activities to help them learn about election processes, candidates and issues globally.

Interactive and Student-Centered

The ePals World Elections Center includes projects and activities for both whole-class and independent learning and reinforce problem-solving, critical thinking and the cultural awareness emphasized in the new Common Core Standards. Among the multimedia offerings available for students to explore are videos on: the recent French presidential inauguration; the campaign trail with 2012 Venezuelan presidential candidates; and the U.S. Republican and Democratic National Conventions. Students can also tap into a variety of safe social media features that enable collaborative projects, discussion forums around election topics, quizzes, polls, and other interactive communication elements.

Encouraging Student Voices

A primary area of the World Elections Center is Students Speak where students can share their thoughts and feelings about the elections, leaders and issues in their countries with peers around the world. Student voices are showcased through a variety of media including writing, artwork and videos. In this area students can create collages illustrating the candidates' platforms, videotape a reading of an original poem about peace, or craft a persuasive essay explaining their personal political position. Special Challenge sections ask students to craft election slogans, campaign rules or a video-basedPresidential Minute, where they have 60 seconds to address the leader of their country with advice, concerns and issues of importance to their families. For examples of Presidential Minute challenge videos created by students for past elections, visit: http://www.epals.com/worldelections/?studentsspeak

Classroom Projects and Teacher Support

Making it easy for teachers to integrate the World Elections Center into the curriculum is a Teachers' Corner where educators from around the world can find partners for collaborative projects on a range of election-related topics. Sample projects include exploring primary election issues, researching candidates' viewpoints, and looking at the U.S. presidential campaign from a global perspective. Students can also get a kid-to-kid viewpoint on leadership through projects where they research and share detailed information on their country's candidates and how their current leaders came into power. Independent investigations can also be part of projects, with students interviewing parents and grandparents to learn about their immigration stories and how these affect their attitudes towards candidates and issues.

International Curricular Focus

Additional elements of the World Elections Center include Fact Pages for countries that have had or will have Presidential elections in 2012. Fact Pages include detailed curricular material focusing on each country's political structure including its form of government, election processes, terms of office, voting regulations, predictions, and result implications. Countries with elections in 2012 include the Russian Federation, the U.S., Taiwan, Mexico, Slovenia, Gabon, South Korea, France, Sierra Leone, Venezuela, and more.

"Every teacher understands the power of the teachable moment," says Nina Zolt, ePals Co-Founder and Chief Learning Officer. "The World Elections Center provides a terrific opportunity for students around the globe to explore, communicate with peers and generally become involved in 2012 elections and issues around the world that will have a direct impact on their futures."

B2X Care Solutions Achieves Increased Volume and Reaches Number Three Position in Global After-Sales Customer Service Markets

B2X Care Solutions GMBH

B2X Helps OEMs in Mobile and Consumer Electronics Achieve Operational Excellence, Cost Savings and Seamless Brand Experience

MUNICH, GERMANY and SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - October 9, 2012) - B2X Care Solutions (B2X), the global end-to-end after-sales and customer services company focusing on the massive $20B after-sales market for mobile devices and consumer electronics industries, announces increased service volume (over 10M managed repairs globally), 2x revenue growth, market share capture (number three worldwide in device repairs) and new customer wins.

B2X Total Care unifies all customer service activities that occur after the sale, from preventative care and warranty management, to device repair and reverse logistics for the mobile and consumer electronics industries globally. Serving markets where margins are notoriously slim, B2X helps companies with their back-end support and service processes to provide cost savings and determine better operational efficiencies.

B2X Business Growth
B2X has doubled revenues in fiscal year 2011/12 and is on track to increase by another 2x in the current fiscal year 2012/13. B2X covers 9% of the global warranty installed base today and is already number three worldwide in terms of managing device repairs under warranty. The largest amount of managed mobile device repairs worldwide are provided by Nokia, Samsung and B2X respectively. This equates to B2X managing warranty cost of more than 1B USD. Globally, over 10 million devices are repaired and moved through B2X processes with successful outcomes each year. [See B2X Care Solutions infographic.]

The After-Sales Process & B2X Approach
From the moment a consumer calls customer service or walks into a point of sale with a service need, and until a fully functioning product is returned to the consumer, B2X handles those aspects of the customer experience. Almost anyone who owns a consumer electronic device has experienced it failing, and has faced the tedious process of getting it repaired or replaced. B2X understands this consumer pain and the importance of seamless brand integrity for clients (original equipment manufacturers or OEMs) and seeks to unify all customer service activities that occur after the device sale.

B2X Blue Chip, Global Client Base & New Customer Wins
B2X serves blue chip customers in 100 countries, and 30 languages across the globe. B2X's growth is evidenced by rapidly expanding its after-sales business with existing customers including Samsung, Motorola, Sony Mobile, HP, Fujitsu, Telefonica and Orange, as well as a recent deal with Research In Motion.

In a move to continually improve efficiencies and focus on operational excellence, Research In Motion (RIM), a global leader in wireless innovation, has chosen to partner with B2X. RIM is working with B2X on outsourcing the management of device repair services to B2X Total Care.

"In a US$20 billion annual after-sales market for mobile devices and consumer electronics, the potential savings B2X can deliver are enormous," said Karim Barkawi, CEO of B2X Care Solutions. "To date, there are no competitors with a comparable skill set, end-to-end service offering and platform covering the globe like B2X. Furthermore, B2X is asset-less, relying on its network of over 500 service providers unified through its IT platform. As a result, B2X is agile and efficient, able to drive margin enhancement immediately and have time to market advantages without the shackles of ROCE (Return on Capital Employed) requirements."

Technology Platform & Device Diagnostics Innovation
B2X provides a proprietary cloud-based IT platform, B2X Total Care, which is the only multi-vendor solution of its kind in the industry. The platform is designed to keep products out of repair facilities, and a properly functioning device in a user's hands. This approach is intended to produce satisfied end-users, and dramatic savings for manufacturers -- typically in the 10-25% range. B2X is changing the nature of the after-sales experience, by offering innovative self-healing applications and other front-end solutions that keep products in end-users' hands.

About B2X
B2X Care Solutions is a global end-to-end after-sales platform technology and services company. B2X Total Care manages a worldwide system of 500 providers servicing over 100 countries in 30 languages. B2X provides fast, seamless, cost-effective services with real-time visibility wherever its clients' products are sold. B2X's business model is unlike any of its competitors, who make money through costly product repairs. B2X is able to deliver cost savings to clients through volume aggregation and systems integration, regardless of geography or product, something traditional service organizations are unable to do because of their physical assets and established supply chain. B2X's incentives are aligned with its clients: reduce repair incidents, reduce after-sales costs, improve margins and deliver an outstanding end-user experience.

Nutanix Partners With Mason IT to Deliver EMEA's First SAN-Free, Zero-Carbon Private Cloud

Nutanix

Mason IT Chooses Nutanix Technology Within Its Own and Customers' Data Centres

BARCELONA, SPAIN--(Marketwire - October 9, 2012) - Nutanix (www.nutanix.com), the provider of scalable converged data centre systems for virtualised workload, today announced at VMworld Barcelona, Mason IT as their first cloud service provider in EMEA. Mason IT, a private cloud provider and Value Added Reseller (VAR), will utilise Nutanix cluster within their own data centres and provide on-premise solutions for their customers.

Mason IT offers the only sustainable private cloud solution in EMEA built using Nutanix technology. Mason IT chose Nutanix due to its flexible, scalable and predictable performance. Nutanix's innovative solution collapses the conventional two-tiered data centre design of storage and compute down to one single scalable appliance, delivering the world's first flash-accelerated datacentre, capable of hosting thousands of virtualised workloads without the need for a SAN.

"Sustainable IT is a key part of our company strategy. We offer our customers two private cloud options; a UK-based solution with infrastructure built using the latest-generation, energy-efficient technology and a sustainable zero-carbon private cloud in Iceland, where our customers benefit from 100% renewable energy with lower, and predictable long-term energy costs," said Gisli Helgason, technical director at Mason IT. "Not only do Nutanix focus on energy efficiency, but they offer a radically different approach to a traditional architecture by providing converged compute and storage. This can scale to manage petabytes of data with no degradation of performance for our customers."

Alan Campbell, Director, Nutanix EMEA, stated, "Having Mason IT as not only our first cloud service provider customer in EMEA but also as a member of our growing partner network, emphasises the importance of a scalable, cost effective approach to providing infrastructure-as-a-service. With many organisations looking to leverage cloud services to provide a competitive edge, we look forward to working with Mason IT to accelerate cloud offerings in EMEA. We are also pleased to have Gisli Helgason, technical director from Mason IT, on our booth at VMworld to talk to attendees about Nutanix from a customer's and service provider perspective."

With many analysts predicting cloud services to rapidly increase in the next few years and the EU stating that businesses will be investing EUR 45 billion in cloud computing by 2020, the Nutanix Cluster is the ideal platform for building a sustainable, SAN-free datacentre.

"We are seeing a more dramatic uptake of our solutions for cloud service providers in EMEA than any other region in which we operate," observed Dheeraj Pandey, CEO, Nutanix. "Mason IT are a good example of what our customers can achieve with our Nutanix Cluster in providing cost-effective cloud solutions based on our platform."

Nutanix is exhibiting at VMworld Barcelona on Booth S501, with a speaking slot in the Solutions Exchange Theatre and a general session EUC1494.
